Sea Ranch is a small, remote community on the beautiful Northern California coast. To help with travel planning, here are approximate driving times from nearby airports:
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) – 2 hrs 40 min
Oakland International Airport (OAK) – 2 hrs 30 min
Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport (STS) – 1 hr 40 min
We recommend flying into SFO and renting a car, as it offers the most convenient flight options and a scenic drive up the coast. It’s a bit of a journey, but we promise it will be worth it.
-
The Sea Ranch Lodge has a very limited number of rooms. Unless we’ve reached out to you directly to coordinate your stay there, we recommend booking an Airbnb or vacation rental within Sea Ranch proper, ideally on the west side of Highway 1 for the easiest access to wedding events and those gorgeous ocean views.
We will have shuttles running all weekend with multiple drop-off points throughout Sea Ranch. There are many AirBnBs in Sea Ranch but they tend to book quickly, so we recommend reserving your place as soon as possible.
Please reach out to us directly if you have any questions or want guidance on where to book your stay!

Sea Ranch is about a 2.5 hour drive north of San Francisco and we recommend making an adventure of it!
Recommended coastal stops along the way:
Point Reyes Station: A charming town to have lunch or pick up picnic provisions for the drive.
Hog Island Oyster Co. (Marshall location): Iconic oysters on Tomales Bay. A quintessential Northern California experience. We recommend reserving in advance.
Walk the Bodega Head Trail (Bodega Bay): Stretch your legs on this short clifftop loop with expansive ocean views and seasonal whale watching opportunities. Stop for lunch at Drakes Fireside Lounge.
If you plan to visit wine country on your way:
Sonoma: Stroll the Sonoma Plaza and enjoy lunch at Valley Bar + Bottle. Within the Sonoma Valley there are many wineries that offer tastings. Gundlach Bundschu is a great option for a relaxed tasting at one of California’s oldest family-run wineries.
Russian River Valley: A picturesque wine region known for its rolling vineyards. Flowers Winery in Healdsburg offers a beautiful setting to enjoy standout Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with views of the surrounding vineyards. From the Russian River Valley, continuing your route along the Russian River via Westside/River Road offers the most direct route and easy drive to Sea Ranch.
Be sure to fill up on gas before reaching the coast, as stations become limited north of Bodega Bay. Roll down the windows, take your time, and enjoy the drive—getting to Sea Ranch is part of the magic.

Walks & HikingThe Sea Ranch has beautiful trails and coastal walks for guests to enjoy ocean views, cypress groves, and hidden beaches. Recommended hikes include:
Bluff Trail – A casual stroll that follows the entire coast of Sea Ranch. “Walk On Beach” along the trail is our favorite spot to stop along the bluff—and it’s where we got engaged!
Gualala Point Bluff Trail – Offers dramatic cliffside ocean views and birdwatching opportunities.
Salal Trail – A lovely trail that follows a creek up from the coast through forested areas, offering a peaceful walk with occasional ocean views. If you’re lucky, you might spot river otters in the creek.
Point Arena-Stornetta Trail – If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, we highly recommend this trail. Drive 30-minutes north for an incredibly beautiful and dramatic cliffside hike.
The Sea Ranch Links
The Sea Ranch Golf Links is an 18‑hole links-style course along the coast, offering ocean views and a scenic setting.
Tee times should be booked ahead.
